This is another fairly scrappy post, reflecting the general state of the weather locally. Just some simple shots of some very common birds.

A flock of pigeons flying high over local fields…

A collared dove perched on a gravestone…

And a pair of jackdaws, tail to tail…

A short video to close, of a pair of badgers in the garden last night.

Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. Video captured with the Bushnell Trophy Cam

  1. It's amusing to see a relative of the weasel and ferret waddle!
Does the trailcam make a noise when it's filming? That badger is certainly giving it a stare!
I like the dove on the gravestone … it's got a nice mood.

  2. Jackdaws are really quite handsome in closeup.

  3. Jackdaws are observing the area. Food on a sight!!! 😀

  4. Nothing unusual aka great pictures :hat:

  5. dW, I love the way they rock as they move. The trailcam is silent, but the infra red lights come on so they may be seeing some kind of low glow that attracts them.

  6. Adele, I'm quite fond of jackdaws. They're very sleek when they want to be.

  7. Sami, thanks. <<Shucks>>

  8. Darko, you're probably right. There are always people feeding the ducks and the jackdaws want to make sure they don't miss out either.
