A bit of a selection box of local birds today, taken out at Seven Sisters near Eastbourne.
I'll start with one of the smaller birds, a thrush perched in a tree.
Next, in size order, is a redshank, but this time it's one of the two-legged variety.
The third sighting was a little egret. There were several dotted about, but this one presented a nice flight shot.
Fourth, is a cormorant, lazily fishing in the salt water inlet.
Now for heron, nicely fluffing up its feathers against the chill breeze.
Two more to go… starting with a juvenile.
…and ending with the adults.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens.

10 Dec 2012Adele, I wish I'd been able to get closer for that shot of the heron.

10 Dec 2012dW, I was veering more to 'punk' given the spikiness of the hairdo. A teddy boy would have combed it forward a bit more.
