A day in two halves. The morning was punctuated by (brief ) torrential rain. Fortunately water birds are somewhat immune to such weather.

By lunch the rain had moved away, leaving cool sunshine and blue, autumnal skies. The cormorant put in a second appearance.

  1. Not that easy to get out of the water 😀

  2. Nice shots

  3. Darko, they can make it , but it does take quite a long run up to get started.

  4. Erwin, thanks!

  5. The last two days have reminded me why I usually like autumn! If it doesn't rain from now until December, I'll be pleased.

We'll probably have a boom in the cormorant population if the climate remains like this :right:

  6. Adele, oh gosh, some dry, clear weather would be wonderful! I don't know about a boom in cormorants, but apparently waxwings are heading our way in large numbers.

  7. just perfect! thanx for helping us get out to the river for the view!

  8. Kathy, thanks! It was good to get those shots even in the rain.
