The foxes are doing themselves proud at the moment. There are four of them that visit the garden on a reasonably regular basis. Over the weekend I've spotted a shy fox lurking at the back of the garden on a couple of occasions. It flees as soon as it realizes I'm in the garden so I'm not sure which one it is. I do know it's not Shutterbug, who is as imperious as ever as he wanders around whenever he's in the mood. This is him at around midday Sunday (and yes, we had sunshine!).
For the night time part of the blog title I need to resort to the trail cam. There are three foxes in the various clips, plus one more photo of Shutterbug at the end.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. Video clips from the Bushnell Trophy Cam HD.

Always a joy to read your Fox Blogs. I haven't heard one in my rural neighbourhood for ages!

15 Jan 2013dW, the final shot on the video is from the DSLR. The trail cam is good, but not that good!

15 Jan 2013Gaina, ours have been quite noisy lately, but then I suspect they operate in smaller territories in urban and semi-urban areas. Rural foxes can so easily disappear from view and out of hearing range, but it's always wonderful to see them in a fully natural habitat.
