This spat between two herring gulls was a first for me. I've seen them argue before (do they actually do anything else?). I've seen them dive-bomb each other. Never have I seen them wrestle :eyes:

The gull lands… two gulls are lurking on the other side of the roof.

The gull from the previous shot is the one on the left.

Beaks lock!

It becomes a trial of strength

Slowly, they creep towards the edge of the roof

Oh oh!

And over he goes…

The victor stands proud

And sings it from the rooftops!

  1. The bird n the left in the 5th and 6th shots looks as if he is cheering for one of them,

  2. Words, great sequence! There must have been either a female or something to eat involved!

  3. :eyes: :eyes: Okay, where is the referee when you need him? :knight:

Wow. Very unusual sequence. Note to self: do not argue with herring gulls…

  4. It`s not fair, the other one slipped off the roof 😮

  5. Gulls are always jousting for "the spot". Great captures!

  6. Lois, I think that's the female they were trying to impress!

  7. Andy, thanks!

  8. Adele, that's not something I'd seen before. Pecking, swooping, screaming, yes. But grabbing beaks and pushing… a new one on me 🙂

  9. Darko, LOL! Life's tough I guess 😀

  10. Robin, yes spot on. There was a female watching them scrap.

  11. Thanks Erwin!
