Where did summer go? The Downs were shrouded in mist and rain for most of the day. Nice weather for ducks, as the saying goes… though I'm not convinced that the local waterfowl agree.
Moorhen chick dashing for cover!
A huddle of juvenile goslings
For the very young though, there's always mum to provide some shelter.
"Room for one more?"
"Standing room only!"
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens.

19 May 2011Words, great shots. Really like these last two! I guess their okay as long as their heads are dry!

19 May 2011Robin, thanks. Those last two made me laugh, but also slightly envious of the goslings. They look so comfortable tucked in there while I was getting cold and wet!

20 May 2011Well, on the plus side, at least you can still drive down the road when it rains. Had some interesting drives in Sask in the last few days :insane:
I love that moorhen chick! 😀

21 May 2011Adele, that's true. I can imagine that you've had some hair-raising journeys, but I'm sure it's been worth it. I'm looking forward to reading the reports.

22 May 2011These are wondeful photos. The first shot certainly depicts your weather. The goslings aren't going to fit under there too much longer.
