After several days when I've barely picked up the camera (festivities, plus dull, grey weather), there was a break in the clouds this afternoon or, to be more accurate about it, the sun finally dipped beneath the heavy cloud cover. It wasn't going to last long so I popped into the garden in the hope of finding something to photograph. And I did!

I was set up for photographing birds (long lens etc), so was somewhat caught out by the silent arrival of Shutterbug. But foxes are like that. They move silently (most of the time) and are notoriously unpredictable. His appearance at the bottom of the garden was no less welcome for that. The sun and deep shade didn't help me at all (though the colours are great), but I grabbed what I could as he made his way sedately from one end of the garden to the other; starting by hopping over the pond.

And that was about that. Nice though to be back with the foxes for the first post after Christmas!

We've had a white-less Christmas in my part of Europe too, but the sun and greenery is almost absurd. 🙂

  2. Words, nice to see SB out in the sun! Nice to see the sun! No sun around here, this week. Just rain! 🙁 Ah well, it's 10 degrees, so I shouldn't complain!

  4. Jumping over the pond and marking his territory 😀

  5. Looking nice in the sunshine! My local foxes have suddenly vanished – too typical at this time of year :right:

  6. Darko, yes he was just letting me know that he owns the place 😉

  7. Adele, I've not seen much of the foxes recently so this brief visit was very welcome.

  8. Robin, it's mainly been rain since then (it's back again today), but I'll grab what sun I can. The temperatures aren't too bad, which is something I guess.

  9. Wojtek, it's been very mild this year, which is something of a relief after the harsh winter we had in 2010/11.

  10. dW, thanks!

  11. Sun, what is that? :yikes: :jester:

    Pictures are

  12. Sami, I think the sun is that thing we seem to get every other day at the moment. None today of course 🙁
