I've very little to show for the weekend other than a hotchpotch trail cam video featuring a badger and then three of the regular foxes. They are still evading me (I'm typing with frozen fingers having spent the best part of an hour trying to catch them out).

But I promised a better link, and this one goes to some extraordinary footage captured by Sitting Fox, of a badger rescuing its tiny baby from a flooded or collapsed sett.

We're likely to have a significant snowfall tomorrow, which ideally will produce some beautiful wildlife photos but more likely will end up in traffic chaos at the end of the day.

  1. Interesting vid, Words … it became apparent at the end that the two foxes were in fact the kits from last spring.
Clever move by the one who got the second one out of the way while he returned and quite finished the peanuts. A fox outfoxed, as they say.

  2. dW, yes I suspect they are last season's youngsters. The one getting all the peanuts is the vixen.

  3. Thanks for the link to my video! 🙂

I can identify with the frozen fingers :smurf: I'd like to take the camera outside now, but it's bitter out there.

  4. Adele, such great footage I couldn't not link to it! It's warming up here after a frozen start. Everything in Brighton shut down for the day, and just beginning to get moving again.
