Three more birds to start the week. Yesterday’s rain and gloom eased slightly today and between some very heavy showers there were brief periods of sunshine. The day started well enough, and the little wren ventured out on to the grass bank at the edge of Falmer Pond.

Lots of herring gulls around as well. This is a juvenile. Nothing very special about it, but a crisp shot and decent light.

After that the weather deteriorated, and most of the day was wet. Most, but not all. There was a brief break in the weather when I drove through Seven Sisters at lunchtime and grabbed a couple of photos of a passing little egret.

  1. Wish I were there, Words!

    1. dW, I think we had about 40 minutes of decent weather. The rest of the day was dire! But nice while it was fine.

  2. I like the first photo, with wren. Like it knows the summer is over and a winter is coming. Enjoy the last of the sun 😀

    1. Darko, thanks. Autumn is definitely here. Mainly rain for the past couple of days, thunder and wind. Not too cold though, and the sun still peeps through every now and then.
