  1. That has to be the cuttest little rat!

  2. You scared a rat 😀

  3. Wonderful pictures :hat: Here we had rats in park as well but they were poisoned last winter. So, the population was at least cut down a little for a moment. The real problem are us people who throw food around and feed birds in parks. Then rats find plenty to eat.

Moreover, i wonder why we like birds but not rats. We think rats are somehow dirtier than birds but they are not. I personally think birds like pigeons are nothing but winged rats :p

  4. Darko, I fear it wasn't very afraid!

  5. Erwin, thanks!

  6. Sami, the problem with poisons is that they aren't targeted, and they get into the food chain for larger mammals. I don't think they would risk that in the park.

  7. Robin, I agree: the fourth shot is pretty cute as rats go!

  8. Love the flying rat! 😀

  9. Adele, for a moment I thought you were talking about a pigeon 😉

And still they use it here :yikes: They have special boxes where only rats and mice are supposed to get inside. And maybe the poison has lost it's power if dead rat is eaten by some larger mammal

  11. It's used here as well, but can damage the food chain. Birds of prey can be at risk, as well as other mammals that prey on rodents (not just rats… shrews, mice etc can get the poison). It is a tricky one, as controlling rats is necessary.

  12. 😆 😀 Lovely
