Brighton seafront is in a state of decay, and apparently is currently preparing a bid to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To be sure the Victorian arches (home to all manner of artisans) are crumbling and significant work is needed to keep the historic seafront standing.
Meanwhile there is plenty to see, including the Brighton Wheel.
The latest addition to Brighton is the much more controversial i-sore i360 tower, supported by taxpayer guarantees (private investors backed away). This photo shows the current state of building. A donut shaped glass ring will be added, but basically this is it: an industrial chimney dominating the city. Every time I see it I think that Shoreham power station has got that little bit closer.
Closer to ground level there is plenty of colourful graffiti…
And the local residents who really couldn’t care one way or the other 😉
Camera note: all photos taken with the Canon 7D Mark II and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens.

19 Sep 2015Street light looks unreal, almost like a drawing.
I googled i360 and don’t know what to think of it. No doubt a view will be spectacular but somehow it doesn’t fit in the neighbourhood. Maybe I am just old fashioned 😛

21 Sep 2015Darko, I’m learning more and more about black and white editing, but still a lot of trial and error. As for the i360, I’m not even sure the views will be much. Brighton from the sky isn’t London, Paris or New York and 180 degrees of the view is just the sea which will not be anything to look at at night (or when it’s foggy, raining etc). A grand folly.
