The mercury is falling and snow beckons over the next few days. For now, though, we are blessed with clear blue skies and beautiful frosty mornings. These shots are again from Seven Sisters Country Park, near Eastbourne, and were taken just as the sun was rising over the Downs.

There was little to see in the way of wildlife, though a plump rabbit was keeping warm in the shelter of a small copse.

One shot from lunchtime, back at my usual haunt at Falmer. A lone herring gull has outwitted the black-headed gulls and is making off with its prize, some bread thrown by one of the pond regulars.

  1. LOL.
Nice landscapes, Words … but where are the three craws?

  2. Gaina writes:

If I was that chubby little rabbit I'd be hiding myself a bit better – looks like just the think a hungry buzzard needs on a cold day! haha

  3. Fun to see them walking on the ice 😀

  4. Gaina, it was pretty well protected where it was and only a few feet from the burrow so I think it will be ok. 😉

  5. dW, you lost me with the 'craw' comment

  6. Darko, I pity their poor feet :psmurf:

  7. "Three craws sat upon a wa',
    sat upon a wa',
    sat upon a wa',
Three craws sat upon a wa', On a cold and a frosty mornin'."

  8. Beautiful landscape… gulls are having fun and the rabbit  awesome pictures…. 😎 😀

  9. Wonderful light on the hills  I cannot see much except snow right now…

  10. greatZenaida, thanks! We have some great countryside here, especially at this time of year.

  11. Adele, I hope this brief burst of 'proper-winter' clears up soon. Snow is fine for a day or so, but cold, bright mornings are better!

  12. dW, I've not come across that song before. Another variation on a traditional theme. Thanks!
