The unpredictable weather continues. At 6pm this evening the temperature was well below freezing, but as night fell the wind direction changed and the temperature outside has risen by about 10º. It's still cold, but the snow is ebbing away, icicles are melting and there will be little but the last remnants of snow by sometime tomorrow. But that is now. Earlier in the day, it was a different matter…

  1. After a storm is over there is a lot of beauty left

  2. i heard that it is -25c there

  3. I really wanted a sunset shot over the snow but seemed to have missed out (we've still got over 20cm of snow here, but it's disappearing too and the weather is less than inviting).

    Very pretty!

  4. Fabulous views inside your brilliant photography! :coffee:

  5. Darko, it was great that we had a bit of sun on Friday. It made all the difference.

  6. Rania, it wasn't quite that cold (we were about -7º here). It's warmed up now (about +7º), so all the snow has vanished!

  7. Erwin, so it does. It was brief, but it looked great.

  8. Adele, yes today has been mild(ish) but grey and very wet. Just about the worst of all combinations. Everything just looks a mess now 🙁

  9. Cynthia, thanks! Snow is always special here.

  10. It was short but short lasting things are apprieciated more i think.

It was so icy last Saturday and when me and Rosie were shopping we saw this elderly man slip on the ice and cracked his head open so we had to call the ambulance to him. I hope he will be ok but he was 79 years old so we didnt take any chances even though he stood up and sat down.

His wife was with him so we stayed until the ambulance people came which was very efficient, only 4 minutes at most!

It makes me think the council should do more about local roads and ice, especially around my estate where it becomes an ice rink in winter time.

  11. Mark, I wouldn't have fancied this for much longer to be honest.

I hope that old fellow is ok. The ice is treacherous. Good on you and Rosie for calling an ambulance, That's when mobile phones are at their best! And good on the emergency services for getting there so quickly. That's impressive.

  12. well that's better

  13. It Is all very beautiful in this white dress
