We've had rain and sunshine today, and the temperature is still well below normal for the time of year. It was overcast early this morning when I took these two shots of rabbits out in the local fields.

The real treat though was the appearance of half a dozen young greylag goslings. From what I can ascertain they are about two days old (first seen on Tuesday). Here is a very small selection of six very small geese. The adults are in constant and close attendance.

Two more photos from the day, starting with a trio of ducks that flew over the pond as the skies darkened before a brief downpour.

And to close, the inevitable photo of a fox cub. This one is carefully making its way along a narrow ledge at the edge of a wall above a raised flower bed.

  1. The geese are a delight, Words … and the duck photo very handsome.
It looks like you could slice the two rabbit photos vertically, and combine the two sharp halves.

  2. Here it is 😉

  3. dW, thanks! I was very pleased with the ducks, and you are right about the rabbit shots. It would be easy to do.

  4. Bingo!

  5. At least these two were not running from you 😀

  6. The cubs are growing fast.

  7. And the rabbits are running fast … they know the cubs will be along soon.
"All the world will be your enemy, Prince of a Thousand enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you; digger, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed."

  8. Adele, they've already lost that roundness of the very young. Beginning to look like proper little foxes.

  9. Darko, but they were looking for cover!

  10. dW,
