The temperatures have dropped significantly over the past couple of days, and there are forecasts of snow for parts of the country over the next few days. It won't reach as far south as Brighton, but we may get a few early morning frosts. That's fine… I'd rather clear cold skies than cloud and rain (though we could do with rain to replenish the rivers and reservoirs).

Today at least the sun was still shining. These are some early morning shots taken at Falmer Pond and the surrounding fields.

The rabbits seem to be doing well this year, and look very healthy. I'm pleased to see no signs of myxomatosis, though that may change as we move into summer.

As for the birds, just a couple. First a moorhen in a tree. They never look quite at ease so far off the ground, but the backdrop was just right and the early light was good.

And one of the very many blackbirds I'm seeing. They seem to be having an exceptionally good year so far. I liked the way this one fanned its tail feathers while giving me one of those stern 'out of my way' stares. Telling me who's boss!
