Just a few shots from today. The first sequence was taken at lunchtime. I didn't venture far into the park but sometimes you don't need to work too hard to find what you're looking for. The squirrels were happy to bring the show to me.
And being the park, a 'skinny' squirrel 😉
Tonight, the skies were clear and I spent some time watching the Geminids. I did see a few shooting stars, but didn't capture any on camera. I did manage a fox though. Bold, to be precise. She was in one of her exploring moods.
So a good day for mammals, which goes some way to compensating for the train breaking down on my way to work this morning (the doors weren't working, a far too common problem for the 'Gatwick Express'), resulting in a packed train of commuters being decanted on to a freezing platform in mid-Sussex. Hmmm….
Camera note: all day shots taken with the Canon 40D and EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM. The night shots were with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.

16 Dec 2010😥 How I long to never step on one of those terrible devices again.
But, anyway, those are lovely shots and I'm glad someone is still finding foxes about! I'll have a look here at the weekend, but if the snow is as deep as expected, it'll be quite a challenge.
London would be so dull without the squirrels!

19 Dec 2010Ewrin, the squirrels are all over the park and they are so very helpful when they pose for the camera. 🙂 Foxes would certainly take rats, but might have more trouble with a squirrel (they're very fast).

19 Dec 2010Adele, I see from your blog that you've now had some success with local foxes. Not looking forward to the trains this week, that's if I can get to the station.

19 Dec 2010Mark, the big problem with the Gatwick Express is that the doors don't work properly. Apart from the ridiculous design that only has doors at the far end of each carriage (so it takes longer to get off as people try to drag luggage down the centre aisle), they regularly jam causing trains to be withdrawn. It's the single most common reason for cancellations and delays as far as I can see. Just another design
