The pond tonight…

Camera note: the underwater frogs were photographed with the Canon 40D and EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens. I used the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro lens for the spawn.

  1. You will have a big choir in your pond soon 😀

  2. You photos are such a wonderful combination of science and art!

  3. I'm really starting to think that Surrey is in its own microclimate! :right: I know I've been away, but I'm yet to see one amphibian up here at all, let alone spawning!

  4. Adele, I find that bizarre. We definitely have a micro climate where we are (generally consisting of mist or wind). Our pond somehow thrives on neglect.

  5. Lois, thanks. The spawn fascinates me and it's nicely positioned so I should be able to watch the tadpoles develop. 🙂

  6. Darko, I've not seen as many as last year yet, but they can still be very noisy!

What a cool macroview! Nice find.

  8. Erwin, yes I guess spring really is here. We just need some good weather to go with it.

  9. Thanks Dave!

  10. WOW! Words!

  11. Cynthia, thanks! It's always fun taking these shots.

  12. Great photos words. Ive just got back from the place I photographed the frogs last year and they have been and gone in the 10 days between me visiting!

  13. Neil, been and gone??? Surely not. Any spawn present?

  14. Wow the closeup shots of the Spawn look like beautiful jewellery!

  15. Mark, it does looks pretty close up like that. I'm not sure I'd want to wear it though as it's very sticky!

  16. Well to see your Pict I lust say Spring Is In the land
