Woodpecker in a Country Lane

Not the best shot of a green woodpecker that I've taken, but the setting was beautiful. As ever, it disappeared almost as soon as I'd seen it.

And some more video, this time captured at around 6.00am.

He was waiting for the hedgehog to go to sleep (this is just a few hours later on the same night). 😉

Well, that's tolerant for a woodpecker!

I saw no less than four of the things (two greens and two GSWs) while walking out of the village to the station the other morning. And of course I didn't have my camera…

Adele, I'm sure they can smell a camera at 100 yards. No camera? Out they come, singing, dancing, doing tricks. And as the lens appears… they ghost away into nothing. Spooky!
