Today was mainly dull, but for the early birds there was a beautiful glow of sunrise before the clouds set in. I was fortunate to catch the light as it topped the Downs this morning at Seven Sisters, just outside Eastbourne. Here are a few shots taken over a brief 10 minute spell.
The wigeon are certainly making the south coast their home at the moment. Here's a small group in flight over the local farmland.
The Canada geese are there too… this one is making a short diversion past the local pub (definitely closed at this time of day).
A little egret stretches its wings with a lazy low flight along the water.
A little grebe pauses between dives…
And all the time, a heron watches from the bank.
A nice start to the day!

13 Feb 2013Kathy, that's location is a great spot. There's always something around to photograph unless the weather is truly dire. I'm usually there for no more than 10 minutes and just photograph what I see.
