This is beginning to feel like a real summer. It's hot and dry, the sun shines all day, and the forecast is 'set fair'. it's also the time when young fledglings are abundant, and today's birds start with a pair of young jackdaws, perched on a grave in the churchyard at Falmer Village. Young goths, indeed!

The young gulls are also doing well. Some have already taken tentatively to the wing, but not these. Their turn will come over the next few days.

This one has about a week to go, but is busy preening its feathers in preparation.

Back in the garden the foxes continue to entertain. This is Pretty.

Red finds it all so boring

Even the adults are becoming just a little less cautious. Nicked-ear avoided the camera tonight, but Shy Boy did allow himself to be photographed. First with the cubs, and then on his own.
