It's a few days since I last posted, so time for a general update.
Things have been relatively quiet in the garden. Generally two of the cubs have been showing up early evening, and occasionally a third one. No fighting and not too much playing either. The warm weather has provided plenty of bugs for them to eat, and they spend a good part of the time scratching at the grass looking for grubs.
As well as the cubs, there have been numerous butterflies, though oddly I can't recall seeing any of the normally ubiquitous cabbage whites. The first one isn't at all familiar to me, but was hovering close to the ground at the weekend.
This next one (a Red Admiral) arrives with a companion, and is fluttering around most evenings.
As well as these flighty visitors, the flowers are blooming. This lily is at the edge of the pond:
And here are a couple of the roses. The first is a newly planted David Austin rose, and should really do itself justice next year.
The second rose is from the massive bush at the front of the garden.
Oh, and scattered around the undergrowth is an increasing collection of gardening gloves, pillaged from nearby gardens by the foxes, plus of all things, a bedroom slipper which moves around mysteriously each night.

14 Jul 2006When I was very young, my father use to grow flowers, he have had a little garden in front of our small house. I remember he was kind of proud of it and spend a lot of time around.
Thanks for reminding.
