Another quiet day, but there was an earlier visitor to the local churchyard who seemed happy enough to be photographed.

The pheasant wasn't the only visitor. A moorhen was posing prettily as well.

On the other side of the pond, in the older churchyard, was a rather battered, but otherwise perfectly content, rabbit.

And roughly at the mid-point between the two, at the apex of the pond, a pair of yellowhammers added a welcome splash of colour to an otherwise steely grey day.

  1. Pheasant is always nice to see

  2. My, you're certainly well into Spring, over there … I haven't seen a flower growing outdoors here since September, and that was pretty feeble. Our grass, too (where it can be seen) is far from green … there are promises, but, so far, that's all they are.
That poor pheasant looks as though it's had a close call with some predator, as does your bunny … a near miss, as they say … a little too near. The moorhen looks in good health, and the yellowhammers are new to me … pretty birds, though.

  3. Spring is looking, here in Prague is still asleep, but it was a piece we have here. :sherlock:

  4. Strange, I've been seeing a rabbit with half an ear too. Perhaps it's the latest fashion :right:

  5. Jiří Kýr, the weather is very mixed up here so far. We may yet get more snow. We can never tell. 🙂

  6. Adele, they'll be sporting tattoos next :alien:

  7. dW, it's rough and tumble out there for most creatures, but the weather is in a world of its own at the moment. Our Christmas Roses (helebores) are just flowering… they were completely dormant at Christmas

  8. Darko, thanks. Nice to get him in a new location.
