Presumably there is an answer to this, but why are butterflies called "butterflies"? The word ought – by any sensible descriptive thinking – be 'flutter by' since that's exactly what they do. We were musing over this one in the heat of the afternoon, but didn't come to any conclusion other than that we both had the same thought (at different times) when sitting in the same garden chair. So we're blaming the garden chair for 'sending' strange thoughts to us 😉

All this is a preamble to a couple or so flutter-by shots taken over the weekend. After all the blood and guts of yesterday's post it should come as something of a relief.
