A pair of fulmars at Rottingdean

A (rock) pipit…

A gull and a sparrowhawk (over the garden)

Further development of the spawn/tadpoles

The bold vixen… those patches are just the same as ever

But she still has time to pose.

Camera note: All shots taken with the Canon 40D. I used the EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens for the birds and the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM for the fox. The spawn was taken with the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro lens and EM-140 DG ring flash.

  1. very nice

  2. Great pictures, I can see I missed a lot 😀

  3. I think, for the sake of birdwatchers everywhere, they should officially lump all pipits together into one species

    Great phtoos!

  4. I guess those patches will remain forever :awww:

  5. Ah, the bold vixen is so pretty, patches or not! My locals ended up with their Easter eggs for the weekend too…developing a taste for them now! :chef:

  6. Eric thanks!

  7. Thanks Tapas!

  8. Vulpes, good to hear that the Easter tradition is in full swing. I saw her last night trying to cut out the middle man… she wandered through the garden with what looked like an ex-pigeon!

  9. Adele, can they add warblers to the list of 'impossible to i.d.' while they are at it. 😉

  10. Darko, it's beginning to look like the coat won't recover, though she'll still be moulting at this time of year. I'll give her until the autumn now to see if there's any change. But you are probably right.

  11. great selection of great photos 🙂

  12. Erwin, thanks!

  13. Neil, thanks!

  14. Great shots, and a great Pict of the pipit
