'Nice weather for ducks' is one of those odd English phrases we use to describe wet weather. Another, which is reserved for when the rain is really heavy, is 'raining cats and dogs'. And unfortunately in the 20 minutes I got outside today, it was definitely the latter… and of course neither a cat nor dog – nor indeed any other creature – was anywhere to be seen. A few hapless people were caught in it though (including me).

Strong winds tonight, and some minimal damage in the garden which will need to be repaired at the weekend. There's the promise of a slight improvement in the weather tomorrow. I hope so. Maybe if it's dry the trains will run on time.

  1. You weren't kidding when you said it was raining!

  2. Unusually warm November in my corner of the world but that rain is a sign what will start soon :eyes:

    😥

I like that second shot. It sums up this week perfectly!

  4. Yeah, we really got battered the last couple of days. Seems like the worst has passed though.

  5. Robin, I swear it was quite bright when I went out… it all changed in a matter of minutes!

  6. Adele, it's not been a great week and I'm rapidly learning the many frustrations of the commuter.

  7. Mick, you may well have had even worse weather than we did. Still, it is autumn, and actually quite mild which is something.

  8. Ewrin, you may laugh! But I probably looked exactly the same where I was standing 😀

  9. Darko, yes you do get some fairly extreme weather where you are.

  10. 😮 Sky was falling down! Second picture is just great :wizard:

  11. Sami, typically this was my lunchtime… it was sunny later on in the day.

😆 Have you forgot to carry your umbrella with you? 😀 That usually does the trick. Yesterday I forgot my umbrella at home and of course it was raining when I went home after work

  13. Sami, I never carry an umbrella. I need my hands free for the camera 😉 But it's only water. Not a problem 🙂

  14. Yes, umbrella would make photographing animals rather difficult 😆 However, I have no water tight cameras and umbrella works for my style

  15. Sami, I may have to borrow your style (and maybe your umbrella!) 😀
