Just a short post tonight. The weather was misty for much of the day; certainly not the spring-like weather we'd almost become used to. All of which means that there are few photos to show, even though I did spot the local sparrowhawk over the pond this morning. The one picture from during the day that I have kept is this one of one of the white ducks.

The rest of the ducks are from yesterday. A couple of rear-view flight shots…

And a pair lurking around the castellated church roof.

Back home the frogs have produced some more spawn, which will in turn keep the newts happy and may just result in an extra frog or so in the pond.

  1. Words, great shots! I really like the white duck! I seem to have a thing for them. Their pure whiteness is so nice!
It snowed here again today! Spring seems to be dragging her heals!

  2. The white duck is a real smile-generator.

  3. Great compositions :hat:

  4. Second one is hilarious. One would think they are more gracious while flying (or landing) 😛 It was windy?

  5. Robin, thanks. The weather is not too bad at the moment, certainly nothing approaching snow lately. The white ducks were 'dumped' at the pond so someone told me today. So domestic fowl enjoying freedom.

  6. dW, thanks! The white ducks are very pretty things.

  7. Darko, I don't think it was windy but they do come in very fast when landing, so the feathers have to work hard to slow them down before they hit the water.

  8. Sami, thanks!

  9. Quite brave of the ducks to perch so high!

I've clocked them at 80 mph, migrating south along the US Highway #51.

  12. Adele, it's certainly unusual to see them up on the roof like that.

  13. dW, that's fast flying (and driving!)

  14. Luckily, I didn't have to pace them for very far before I had a good reading.
