The fox showed up early today, just as the sun was setting. We'd seen the vixen flitting through the shrubs at the back of the garden a little earlier, but as usual she kept well out of camera shot. The dog fox though, well he just strolled up without a care in the world.

We gave him some leftover lamb which we had in the kitchen. He clearly appreciated it.

It was no surprise that he was still out in the garden when we popped out a little later on.

No fool, he jumped down to see if anything was on offer.

But even a fox has to earn his keep, so like the good fox he is he posed for a portrait.

And then popped down for a close-up.

Before returning to his look-out which gives him a perfect view of the back door.

  1. What a beautiful group of photos!

To have a wild fox getting so comfortable around you that he comes in without fear of you must be fantastic! Maybe the little vixen will learn from him!

    Thank you for sharing.

  3. I'm hopeful about the vixen. As you can see from the next post, my wife has managed to get a good view of her.
