These are just a few recent shots that haven't fitted in anywhere else, and in particular an excuse to post this shot of a wasp caught in a spider's web. It was taken a few nights ago, before the rain returned.

Jumping forward to today, a fleeting shot of a cormorant with its catch.

Camera note: all bird shots taken with the Canon 7D EF and 400mm f/5.6L USM lens. The entombed wasp was taken with the EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens and Canon 430EX flash unit. The flash was set to 1/16th manual speed.

  6. Erwin, I think these are our standard crows. I've not seen any house crows. I think they are slowly colonizing in Ireland.
