No sooner do I post a series of photos of Fox #2 (see yesterday's posting), than who shows up tonight as though he's never been away… yes, Fox #1.

There I was, poised by the back door, camera pressed against the glass when a familiar shape appears at the bottom of the garden. He grabbed a Markie and disappeared to the far end, so I popped outside to be sure who it was. Bright as a button he trots back down to the feeding bowl. As ever, he happily posed for the camera.

I reckon he's been reading this blog and getting jealous of Fox #2's sudden elevation to fame. I mean.. whose face is it at the top of the page? I'll admit to having been worried about him. Over the past few weeks his tail had been showing signs of wear, giving it a kind of conical look near the top where he'd been nibbling at it. The distinctive shaping is still evident, but from what I can see the fur is growing back quite well.

Having satisfied himself with what was on offer in the bowl, he popped down to the very front of the garden where the magic hen lays its eggs.

So it looks like it was just a temporary absence. It will be interesting to see how Fox #2 reacts. Be great if they both turned up at the same time!

  1. wow thats good ) nice shot too

  2. Welcome back, #1 Fox.

You, as always, have some terrific shots. What a delightful way to spend the evening… much better than re-runs of Friends on the TV.
