It really is turning into a miserable early summer. Almost nothing but rain (yet still the English drought persists). It's not good for getting outside and I've only a couple of shots from the day (but some trail cam treats may make up for that a little).

This was taken early in the morning through sodden mist.

And these two at lunchtime through light drizzle.

It damp and misty last night as well, so these aren't the best of shots, but it is a treat to see Mama Vixen together with her cub. So far we've only seen one cub (though the nightly noises from nearby suggest that there may be more).

  1. This weather is diabolical, cold and wet. :yuck:

But so great that mother and cub are willing to brave it.

  2. Still so rainy? I look forward to walking Khamsin in Norfolk marshland-turned-lake when I return :right:

But the foxcub must be making up for the weather a bit 😀 Are you going to name him?

  3. Nice shots, Words … especially the squirrel.

  4. dW, I think the squirrels are already preparing for winter. :right:

  5. Mick, hopefully the next few days will prove better weather-wise. It's beginning to wear me down.

  6. Adele, more rain today, but we may get a few days respite. Everywhere is sodden, with localised flooding. :irked: I've not named the cub yet… early days. No doubt if it becomes a regular I'll have to think of something.

    Water based erosion? 😀
I do know you feel, almightily sick of the wet myself.

  8. Mick, it's ok at the right time and place, but it has been a bit excessive. And though most of the country has had droughts orders lifted, we're not among the lucky ones. We're still 'in drought' despite the sodden mess out there. :right:

  9. The news today was saying the weather has put the growing season three weeks behind. The farmers are going to be in trouble if they don't see some drier, warmer conditions.

  10. Yesterday we saw a grey squirrel, one of the rare ones in the neighbourhood. The rest of them are black 😆

  11. Darko, You have black squirrels! Excellent. 🙂

  12. Mick, hopefully things will improve a little. Agriculture is really suffering here as well, though if we get some warm weather the bountiful rain may have been of use.
