It's like mid-summer here. Which means grey, cold, wet and gloomy. Not ideal, but I liked a couple of the shots I managed during he day. This first one isn't quite as sharp as I would have liked, but capturing a pair of collared doves in flight tipped the balance on inclusion.

The second of the daytime shots is a juvenile herring gull, one of the ones born on the roofs of Sussex University (identifiable via the ring).

As for tonight, Shy Boy is looking ever more the full-grown fox, and he's beginning to boss the garden. Except of course this is Shutterbug!

Camera note: first two shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. Fox images taken with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM through incipient mist, and a light drizzle.

  1. The doves look like motion-blur, Words … Your EXIF isn't in the picture, so I can't be sure, but you could hardly be blamed for mot having the highest shutter speed set; not in a situation like that.
Shy boy is not only more mature-looking, he is noticeably bigger.

  2. Rainy days are back, eh? :awww:

  3. Darko, it seems to be one day rain, one day sun at the moment. Weird!

  4. dW, the doves were taken at 1/250s, so a little bit of blur is to be expected.

Shy Boy looks bigger because it's Shutterbug. I was going through a weird couple of days there.

  5. Erwin, thanks!

  6. On this part of the coast, it feels like six days of rain and one of sun. November has come early 😥

The flint wall behind the doves complements their colour nicely

  7. Adele, it's obviously marginally better down here than where you are, but today was rubbish by anyone's standards. The weekend might be ok though.

  8. Lovely
