I very rarely make it down to Brighton Beach, but it's well worth a visit especially on days like today when the sun is shining and the winds are gentle.
The Brighton Pier, formerly known as the Palace Pier.
Pier to Pier (West Pier ruins in the distance)
Through the Snail (or donut, though its proper name is 'Afloat')
How to spend your money
Merry-Go-Round Horse
A Friendly Guest House :yikes:
Food and Drink
Gulls Galore!
Feeding Frenzy
Regency Square (ought to be a jigsaw puzzle)
Late in the day I also saw a flock of cormorants flying over the sea, in a perfect V formation. Th ephotos not great (I only had a short lens with me), but to add a touch of wildlife, here it is.
Cormorants in formation flight
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D and EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.

24 Sep 2010Love the feeding frenzy photo, although it's probably not quite so good to see that sight in person :yikes:

25 Sep 2010Darko, it's an easy equation: 1 x Food = 100 x Gull

25 Sep 2010Looks like you had a nice day. The "Feed Frenzy" photo is something else! You really have a natural talent for getting photos of images that our eyes don't quite see, because the movement is so quick.

25 Sep 2010Cynthia, thanks! With the gulls it was just a matter of firing the camera and hoping for the best. They were flapping all around me!

30 Sep 2010Brighton is such an amazing place and i have very happy memories with Rosie there, we even found a crazy golf course! Those 2p/10p machines are sometimes addictive especially when there are small prizes in them. ( i tend to go for the 2p machines only as i spend less!) 😀

30 Sep 2010Mark, those 2p/10p machines are addictive, but next time you're there if you look closely there's a ledge in the front centre of the pile of coins so even though it looks like they are all about to tip over, they're not! :insane:
